  Dr. Sharan Kanakiriya, M.D. is one of THE most exceptional physicians that I have ever 'encountered' in my life. He is one of the most caring and compassionate individuals I've ever met and I haven't encountered one person who is one of his patients that doesn't feel the same way as I do. When you 'consider' Dr. 'K' s specialty and the extreme fields of news concerning dialysis and kidney transplants that he is 'forced' to transmit to his patients each day, one would assume that he would be called upon to keep more of a 'protective shield' around himself to keep from finding it very necessary to have to 'distance himself' to the patients that he comes in contact with in daily treatment of patients .. but on the contrary, Dr. 'K' goes out of his way to open himself up to the needs of each one of his patients and their concerns and fears which I find unbelievable. Because every single patient that he deals with most likely at one time or another is going to facing some pretty severe health issues and should make it a point of 'following' Dr. 'K' s suggestions and advice to the letter .. and to make it a particular point to 'adopt' all of the 'rules of the road' as he recommends to maintain a life to some extent and keep their kidneys as well as they can possibly do to avoid any extreme consequences as they travel through life. As I noted, he is ONE exceptional individual .. both as a medical professional .. and as a human being .. and he 'deserves' accolades for the care and compassion that he provides .. both to his patients and his other colleges. I cannot overemphasize enough that Essentia Health's Nephrology Department is tremendously fortunate to have a physician of his caliber on their staff.
